Osun State Courts Diaspora Investors with Rural Development Push

The Osun State Government has reiterated its commitment to supporting indigenes living abroad who are keen to invest in the state, particularly in its rural areas. Promising a business-friendly environment, enhanced security, and improved infrastructure, the government aims to ensure such investments flourish with minimal hurdles.

Abiodun Ojo, the State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, highlighted this resolve during a tour of Prinaj Resort and Suites, a 35-room facility in Ere-Ijesha. Boasting modern amenities such as an elevator, a swimming pool, a 1,500-capacity hall, and sports facilities, the resort has significantly boosted economic activities in its host community. Ojo praised Wole Ajifolokun, the US-based chairman of Prinaj Group, for fostering local job creation and energising the local economy.

Ojo emphasised that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration is eager to collaborate with both local and international investors committed to economic and cultural growth. He outlined plans to upgrade road networks and other infrastructure essential for tourism and investment, stressing the government’s focus on sustainable development.

“This facility demonstrates how private investments can complement government efforts in creating jobs and revitalising rural economies,” Ojo noted. He assured investors of continued support and expressed optimism about the broader impact of such projects on Osun’s rural communities.

Ajifolokun, represented by former Osun State Finance Commissioner Dr. Wale Bolorunduro, commended the government’s pro-business policies. “This facility matches global standards and places this community on the world map,” Bolorunduro remarked, calling for further government backing to attract similar ventures.

The government’s message is clear: Osun is open for business, and its rural areas offer untapped opportunities for transformative investments.
